REVIEW : Kyloe Steak Me Home Box, Edinburgh

As a food blogger I often get asked these same questions time and time again..

What’s your go to favourite dish?

What’s your last meal on earth going to be?

If you could only eat one dish for the rest of your life, what would it be?

And my answer is always the same, time and time again; and I doubt it will ever change….

It’s steak (chateaubriand) cooked medium rare, with chunky crispy chips and peppercorn sauce with a nice glass of red wine.

I love many foods and there are many other favourite dishes but this my friends is what you can feed me to make me the happiest little food blogger in Scotland!

KYLOE EDINBURGH - STEAK ME HOME BOX REVIEW

Mclarens on the Corner and Kyloe Edinburgh (they are part of Signature Pubs) have teamed up to bring you their amazing At Home Dining Boxes and to my absolute glee includes the Steak Me Home.

I was utterly delighted to try this out and even better when they delivered the dish of my dreams. Yep, you guessed it… Chateaubriand steak, chunky chips, peppercorn sauce, bone marrow gravy, portobello mushrooms, and rocket & parmesan salad plus a bottle of red wine.

You can choose from three different steak cuts - Chateaubriand, Cote de Boeuf or 500g Sirloin and you can add in additional sides (I went for mac n cheese) and desserts (I chose the Sticky Toffee Pudding of course).

This has to be hands down one of the easiest at home boxes I have tried. They provide a great Cooking Sheet, which allows you to put in your own ‘in the oven’ and ‘out the oven’ timings and everything goes in the one oven pan (just at various times so that it all comes out ready at the one time).

The cut of beef was outstanding. The meat was genuinely phenomenal and melt in the mouth but it also had such an incredible taste too. It came with a wee sprig of rosemary and all you needed to do was salt it well and pop it in the oven for the allocated amount of time required to cook to your liking.

The chips come vacuum packed. Thick chunky and full of potato fluffiness in the middle; and perfect for plate jenga!

Sauce and gravy were spot on and only required some heating through, Portobello mushrooms come with butter and again pop them in the oven and with the mac n cheese.

Super simple, super easy but delivers on every level!
