REVIEW - EAT : Bears Burgers & Chickens, Wokingham
TartanSpoonie Kim, our London and South East England reviewer tried out Bears Burgers and Chicken, a small independent business in Wokingham, Berkshire after seeing rave reviews on Facebook.
After a slight hiccup with their online ordering system we managed to place our order for Friday night (I highly advise you pre-book as meals are freshly prepared and they sell out fast). Our order consisted of 3 x Cheeseburgers, frickles and onion rings.
When booking you are given a 30 minute time slot for delivery, our meals arrived right on time shortly after 7pm. Meals are packaged in recycle cardboard boxes, keeping them hot and fully intact.
The cheeseburgers are LARGE, we didn’t anticipate the portions being so big but we couldn’t wait to tuck in.
REVIEW OF BEARS BURGERS AND CHICKEN, WOKINGHAM
Well... this is hands down one of the best burgers in and around Wokingham, I am very fussy and a self proclaimed burger snob and this one gets my vote. My fellow diner (who is reluctant to pay for anything lol) also thought they were delicious and well worth the money, an honour in itself!
The best bit for me is that the burgers are slightly pink in the middle, not greasy and well seasoned, the burger sauce was also so so good! The burgers look quite dry from the outside, but its just the coating. They are super juicy inside!
The chips were crispy and not greasy, the way a chip should be!
The onion rings were crispy (what is it that gives them that crunch), fully intact and not the slightest bit soggy. Sweet large rings of crispy crunch!
The frickles were interesting, something I hadn’t tried before. My only small gripe is that I thought they were slightly over cooked, but that’s just my personal preference.
Overall, if you’re looking for a superb, delicious burger, Bears Burgers and Chicken is the place to go! We can’t wait to try their chicken burgers next, I’m drooling just thinking about it!
They also do full roast dinners for delivery on Sunday’s and again, by the looks of their social media and if the burgers are anything to judge by, their Sunday Roast’s are gonna knock it out the ball park.
