Yester Farm Dairies- Support you local dairy farms who like many have been affected by Covid. Yester Farm use to deliver many of their products to the hospitality industry and have since had to adapt their model and take on home deliveries. Their products are great and you can order cheeses, yoghurt, cream, milk etc. They deliver in and around Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian.

Peelham Farm - I love organic meat and love Denise at Peelham Farm. They participated in Go Rural farm tour which is fascinating. Have a wee peek for yourself - GoRural on Peelham Farm

Bowhouse - Bowhouse’s Market Weekends are the only market in Scotland to be included as finalists in the Great British Food awards. They’re up against some of the most established markets in the country – including London’s Borough Market. Fingers crossed Bowhouse!

PRODUCTS

Isle of Mull Cheese - they are the last remaining traditional farmhouse cheese from the Hebridean Islands. Made on a family farm with unpasteurised milk from their hardy, healthy, island cows fed on organic grass and whisky grains. They use only island power, namely wind, wood and water and their cheeses are all matured in their cellars. This I guarantee you, makes the best cheese! Check out their online store and order some of their Farmhouse Cheddar or Hebridean Blue - you will not regret it!

Serious Pig - if you are looking for some serious snacks to accompany those pints you can now order and get a carry-out from your favourite pub, look no further than Serious Pig. Salami sticks, sliced pork pieces, pork crackling and snacking cheese. I tried out their snacking cheese - one just cheese the other cheese with truffle and I can confirm both are moreish. If you are on a keto/low carb diet, then these are some of the best snacks to order. They can also send you some beer or wine to accompany your snacks, essentially its THE PUB IN THE POST.

Foodhub - is a new food delivery app and probably one I’d prefer to use as it does not take a commission from the food establishments for each order placed unlike rivals UberEats, Deliveroo and JustEat. This enables Foodhub to offer better prices and deals to customers than other online food platforms.

Virtuo Car Hire - I had the opportunity to trial their car hire last year and I think that their way of car hire is now at the forefront with contactless rentals from booking to the return of the car. It’s seemless, easy and safe. Read my review here

Mackies Crisps - recently launched Lorne Sausage and Brown Sauce. I haven’t seen them in the shops yet - have you?

The combination of berries in the Blackberry & Gooseberry Gin (38% ABV, £23.50) pair beautifully with each other, offering a sweet yet zesty flavour; the succulent flavour of the blackberries is balanced perfectly with the sharp, tangy flavour of gooseberries.
