STAY : The One and Only, Balmoral, Edinburgh

For as long as I can remember, I've dreamt of staying at the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh. Known for hosting some of the world's most renowned guests, it's the epitome of luxury. The perfect moment had arrived: our anniversary.

I've wined and dined, sipped whisky at Scotch, and attended numerous events and travel fairs at the Balmoral. But now, the time had come to fully indulge and immerse myself in all the luxury that the Balmoral has to offer.

A REVIEW OF THE LUXURY BALMORAL HOTEL, EDINBURGH

The Balmoral stands proudly at No.1 Princes Street, a magnificent building that is as stunning on the inside as it is on the outside. Its grand entrance is a sight to behold, always adorned with a breathtaking floral display that perfectly complements the season or the occasion. Whether it's spring blooms, festive holiday arrangements, or elegant displays for special events, the Balmoral's entrance never fails to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The luxurious charm of the hotel extends beyond its doors, making it a true icon of elegance and sophistication in Edinburgh.

We were absolutely thrilled to receive an upgrade from a Classic Room to a Deluxe Room, just a few doors down from the iconic and famous JK Rowling Suite. It was amazing to think that Harry Potter was penned within these very walls.

A Deluxe Room at the Balmoral exudes elegance and sophistication, offering a luxurious retreat. Our room was beautifully appointed with tasteful décor, featuring plush fabrics, rich textures, and a harmonious colour palette that created a serene atmosphere. The spacious layout included a comfortable king-sized bed adorned with high-quality linens and soft pillows.

The room was equipped with modern amenities, including a flat-screen TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, a Nespresso coffee machine, and a minibar stocked with a selection of premium beverages and snacks. The well-designed seating area provided a cosy spot to unwind, with two stylish armchairs with a view out over Waverley Court.

The en-suite bathroom was a sanctuary of relaxation, featuring marble surfaces, a deep soaking tub, and a rainfall shower over the bath. Complimentary toiletries from Irene Forte, the fluffy bathrobes, and plush towels, enhance the sense of indulgence.

Throughout our stay, it was the thoughtful details that truly made our anniversary memorable. From the moment we arrived, we were personally escorted to our room, which immediately set a warm and welcoming tone. Upon entering our room, we were greeted with a delightful box of macarons, a gesture that added a sweet touch to our celebration. Returning to our room after dinner to find the bed was beautifully adorned with rose petals arranged in a heart shape, adding a romantic flair to the room. A lovely handwritten note awaited us, offering heartfelt congratulations on our special occasion. To ensure our utmost comfort, slippers and a luxurious eye cream were thoughtfully positioned by the bedside. These small yet significant touches elevated our experience and made us feel truly cherished and pampered.

My stay at the Balmoral surpassed all my expectations. From the moment I stepped out of the taxi at the entrance to the moment they helped me back into the taxi upon departure, the staff treated me like royalty. Every detail was meticulously attended to, ensuring an exceptional experience. I cannot find a single fault with my stay—it was truly perfect in every way.
