REVIEW : Good Stuff Meal Prep, Edinburgh

There will be many of us emerging from lockdown wanting and possibly needing to loose those pounds gained from too much time as a couch potato binging on Netflix. I think we have also gained a new appreciation for food with us buying our food more locally and supporting those independent shops just around the corner; so although we are prepared to go on a diet, we also want it to be super tasty.

And this is where brothers Leandro and Alberto Crolla step in. There’s a new meal prep business in town focusing on healthy food and created to satisfy the appetite for quality food for wellness consumers to eat at home.

  • Vegan BBQ Pulled Jackfruit - BBQ-spiked jackfruit, served with roasted sweet potatoes, sweetcorn and edamame beans.

I sampled the Prawn Red Pesto Pasta and the Superfood Salad. The salad was good to go and the pasta needed reheating either in the oven or microwave.

Both portions are decent sizes and perfect if you are on a calorie controlled diet but I did find that I needed to eat both meals to feel full. Having said that, I think if you were watching what you ate and were into a restricted diet, then these are ideal portion sizes. I found that I needed to season both dishes to enhance the flavours but that is a personal preference. The prawns were big and juicy and fresh with plenty of sauce to coat the pasta and the prawns. A very tasty dish. The salad was wholesome and the pomegranate and feta cheese adding nice contrasting pops of flavours between sweet and salty.

I really couldn’t fault the quality of the food; and the prep was super easy. Dinner was on the plate within 10 minutes.
