The Tea Selection: A Symphony of Leaves
Before we begin, let’s talk tea. The Sheraton has curated an exceptional collection of JING Teas, sourced from Asia’s finest tea regions. These single-origin and single-garden teas infuse in a unique ‘Tea-iere,’ allowing leaves to bloom into vibrant hues and exquisite flavors. Picture delicate rosebuds in Raspberry and Rose tea or the exotic notes of Phoenix Honey Orchid Oolong from Guandong, China. And don’t forget the effervescent JING Jasmine Pearls Sparkling Tea – a sparkling companion to your literary journey.
Savoury and sweet courses are served separately. The savouries arrived book bound. A beautiful Prussian Blue and gilted gold book is placed on your table. Lift the cover and its filled with savoury gems.
As the book is placed down in front of you, the vibrant colours and edible treasures immediately capture your attention. The food is thoughtfully plated, with each element placed to create a visually stunning presentation. From the Leek, pea and artichoke soup to the Haggis bon bon and the Roast Inverurie Sirloin Beef with rocket, dill pickle, Arran mustard mayonnaise on a brioche roll, every detail has been carefully considered to enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of this Afternoon Tea.
Hot SavoUries: Ode to the Haggis
Our book-bound adventure begins with hot savouries, paying homage to Robert Burns. Lift the Prussian Blue and gilted gold cover to reveal treasures like Campbells of Linlithgow Haggis Bon Bon, paired with soured neep chutney. Peterhead Cod and Prawn Fish Pie, adorned with fennel seed potato and Parmesan, follows suit. And don’t miss the Asparagus and Sweet Pea Velouté, its truffle crème fraîche whispering tales of Scottish fields.
Cold SavoUries: Trainspotting and Dr. Jekyll
Turn the page to the cold savouries, inspired by Irvine Welsh and Robert Louis Stevenson. Lind and Lime Gun Cured Salmon dances with Dill Cream Cheese Pin Wheels on citrus brioche, while Cucumber Ribbons, Parsley, and Lemon Cream Cheese intermingle with Chilli, Mint, and Avocado Purée on soft white tin loaf. Each bite, a literary revelation.
The Culmination: Roast Inverurie Sirloin Beef
Our finale, a crescendo of flavours, features Roast Inverurie Sirloin Beef. Rocket, dill pickle, and Arran mustard mayo harmonize on a brioche roll – a fitting tribute to Walter Scott’s epic tales of Rob Roy. As you savour this masterpiece, remember the old Scottish proverb: “The story is told eye to eye, mind to mind, and heart to heart.”
