Pizza Geeks, are known for their handmade Neapolitan inspired pizzas and their ‘Pizza for the People’ initiative, with restaurants in Haymarket and Leith, and now Easter Road.
This venture is inspired from 80’s nostalgia, encompassing everything from gaming to movies, featuring 8-bit graphics, blockbuster vibes and a nod to iconic 80’s inspired shows like Stranger Things. The gaming room is through the back with nods to Star wars and Mario Cart evident.

Donkey Kong
Mortal Kombat & Mortal Kombat 2
Asteroids
Defenders

Pac-Man (Ms)
Street Fighter 2
Space Invaders

Pizza Geeks have collaborated with well-known graffiti artist Francis Carty from Artisan Artworks to bring their vision to life for the new space. The talented team at Solas Neon also feature some amazing neon installations throughout the venue.
Pizza Geeks are renowned for their soft billowing high quality dough which are then topped with ‘red’ or ‘white’ bases with creative and inventive toppings. They are have a Gluten Free pizza list thats just as inventive, so no-one misses out!
I LOVE their Braveheart pizza with Stornoway black pudding, haggis and salami and their Dalek Bread is one of the best garlic breads around.
However this time I decided to try something different, both vegetarian options and either didn’t disappoint.
The Wildling (£12.00) with garlic and rosemary oil base, spinach, chilli, butternut squash, goats cheese and sweet chilli jam.
The Fantastic Four (£12.00) with garlic and rosemary oil base, mozzarella, blue cheese, goats cheese, grana padana and sage leaves.
Both with thin but slightly chewy bases cooked to perfection with bubbled edges that have caught the heat in the oven, and lovingly charred add another layer of flavour. The toppings are well distributed so that every bite tastes slightly different, some a little sweeter, some with a little more heat and all of it wonderfully garlic-ey!
For sides we couldn’t resist the MacGyver and Cheese Bytes and a beer or two.
This pop-up runs until the end of January 2024, when they will close for a short while whilst they install the log fired pizza oven.
Movies on in the lead up to Christmas include the classics
Home Alone, Elf, Muppet Christmas Carol and Die Hard
Superb spot for a date night, meeting up with friends or even going solo!
