So many wonderful things happening in the food and drink sector. Here’s a wee round up.

WAHACA - Are now doing Click and Collect or you can order via Deliveroo.

BOXLOVE - Looking to send parcels of pure joy through the post. Have a look at Edinburgh company, Boxlove, who sources incredible Scottish products and builds a perfect parcel to send to friends, colleagues and loved ones.

EDINBURGH KOMBUCHA - There is a new kombucha in town and its made right here in Edinburgh. Edinburgh Kombucha is available in red and white. Red is packed with flavours of strawberries whilst White is the classic kombucha retaining its earthiness.

COURTYARD MARRIOTT EDINBURGH - are running a fabulous competition looking to reward an NHS Hero. A two night stay, a shopping voucher and chauffeur transport is up for grabs - it's the hotel's way of saying thank you to our amazing NHS workers. MODERN STANDARD COFFEE - have opened a new store in Edinburgh Bruntsfield. The Scottish brand, which has been supplying coffee to the likes of Five Guys, Amazon’s UK headquarters,  Locke Aparthotels, Ole and Steen as well as Sainsbury’s since 2015, is the brainchild of founder Lynsey Harley. Lynsey is one of the leading women in the UK coffee industry today, having been involved in the country’s booming speciality coffee industry since its inception, gaining some of its top accolades along the way*.

HARVEY NICHOLS, EDINBURGH - have launched their new Christmas menus this week. The new menus include a three course Brasserie menu and a festive afternoon tea menu. In accordance with current Scottish Government guidelines, Harvey Nichols Edinburgh is serving non-alcoholic drinks only. Subsequently, the Bar is serving mocktails with a festive twist this season.

OLLIE AND IVY - not food but who doesn’t love a beautiful dining table and flowers always make it! Luxury floral designers who have just opened a brand new shop in Edinburgh’s Waverley Mall which was once Edinburgh’s famous flower market. Situated in The Cassette unit at Edinburgh’s Waverley Mall, next to the escalators taking you from Princes Street to Waverley Train Station. In prime location in the city, the luxury florist specialise in Events, Weddings, Workshops and Seasonal gifts for the festive season. They have teamed up with the lovely Mademoiselle Macaron for the perfect seasonal gifting this year of flowers and macarons. Weekly or monthly deliveries of decadent macarons and fresh flowers, available on a weekly, fortnightly and monthly subscription service, or as a one off gift, each delivery will contain a Jekyll & Yuletide bouquet and gift box of 6 or 12 handmade macarons.

Experience a photography class in front of Sydney Opera House, switch off and try christmas wreath making, learn how to punch needle cockatoos or paint and sip in a virtual art class, with this unique website for creativity. There are hundreds of classes to choose from and I chose this Whisky Barrel Wreath Making class.
All the items you require are couriered to you prior to the class, you join in via Zoom and a great tutor like Kristen Hunter, will take you through the step by step process. Fantastic way to spend some down time and I loved being creative and having something to show for it.
I love my wreath, which not only smells beautiful with all the fresh eucalyptus but it'll last for years.

UNORTHODOX ROASTERS - a Scottish coffee roastery with cafes in both Kinross and Stirling but also provide coffee, tea and hot chocolate to wholesale clients across the country. I love their coffee names like Wee Stoater. If you love your coffee, give them a try.

SPECTACLE OF LIGHT - Dalkeith Country Park’s festive light experience, the magical after-dark family adventure, Spectacle of Light 2020. After a successful first year, they’re excited to add even more magic to their festive special. Spectacle of Light will be running from 5th December 2020 – 3rd January 2021* and is designed to be enjoyed with family and friends exploring the night-time wonder of our adventure park Fort Douglas all lit under the stars. *Safety is of course our number one priority and we do monitor Government guidance closely.
