Weekly Wrap - June No4

Big Burrito - Scotland will be able to visit beer gardens and outdoor drinking spaces from the 6th July and restaurants and bars as well as holiday accommodation from the 15th July, all going well. Fingers crossed we can start to visit our favourite eating and drinking spots again.

Mariachi - for the best DIY Taco and Enchilda Kits to make at home. I tried out the pulled pork and the vegetarian option of sweet potato and beans. Delicious! They also deliver a bloody great Margarita and beers too.

Chef Barry Bryson - from his Leith Kitchen, Chef Barry is genuinely cooking up a storm and letting you take all the credit! He delivers an amazing 5 course tasting menu along with a video detailing how you finish the food off at home. £65 pp. Order direct.

Bad Girl Bakery - based in Muir of Ord, they have reinvented themselves and reopened the doors with a new shop ideal for baking fans. As well as continuing with the takeaway aspect of their business - sandwiches and soups, you’ll still find a vast array of those amazing cakes, pastries, biscuits and breads but also selected baking equipment and ingredients.

Civerionos Slice - they’re back at The High Dive and offering contactless collection and delivery for their pizza fans throughout the city.

Hawksmoor - are launching Hawksmoor at Home but its a well kept secret about whats in the £120 box. Luckily I get to find out for myself tonight, so keep an eye on my Instagram.

Masti Indian - Morningside Indian Restaurant moves to takeaways. Their menu looks incredible, so will give you the verdict next week.

Whisky Awards - new dates announced. Entry deadline is 10th July with the awards celebration taking place on 3rd September.

Wine Events - I joined Diana for the last two weeks on the Wines of the Unexpected Wine Tasting. A fantastic night, drinking and learning about new wines. If you fancy something different and love drinking wine, then do give this a go. For £78 you do get 6 bottles of wine and 2 x 1 hour online tasting sessions.

Glenallachie Whisky - The Whisky World shop have teamed up with Glenallachie Whisky to produce an exclusive single cask whisky, exclusive to The World Whisky Shop and is now available to purchase for £149.90. The cask type for this GlenAllachie whisky is a first-fill Pedro Ximenez (PX) Sherry Hogshead; bottled at a natural cask strength of 52.5%.

ACTIVITIES

Archerfield Walled Garden - is back open with social distancing measures in place. You can talk a walk in the rose garden - its a one way system but you can still take in the roses; and they have introduced the Food Market takeout that can now be enjoyed at the pond with socially distant picnic benches.

Cringletie Peebles - they open on the 15th July but in the meantime they invite you to have a socially distant picnic in their gardens. You can order the picnic from them direct.

Staycation - fancy touring Scotland in style? then book yourself a luxurious campervan and go where the road takes you. I love these!
