STAY : Air BnB, Commercial Street, Leith, Edinburgh

One step inside this apartment makes my tiny artistic heart leap for joy. The entrance and hallway are painted in a deep Azure purple blue and a stunning linear artwork greets you. It’s gorgeous and feels luxurious but nothing prepares you for what you’ll see when you walk around the corner and head into the heart of this home.

REVIEW OF HOLIDAY LET, AIR BNB, 1 BEDROOM LOFT APARTMENT, COMMERCIAL ST, LEITH EDINBURGH

The open space is immense with thoughtful and beautifully sectioned off areas across the entire space. A TV nook, a lounge area, the dining space and open plan kitchen even a balcony and a desk or vanity station.

This loft apartment sits in Commercial Quay, a stones throw away from Michelin Star restaurant, The Kitchin and a two minute walk to Ocean Terminal Shopping Mall. There are some gorgeous walks to be had along the water of Leith and the docks which could include a stroll for dinner at Malmaison or Afternoon Tea on board Fingal. You’re also only a two minute walk away from one of Britain’s greatest tourist attractions, the Royal Yacht Britannia and Edinburgh city centre is a bus ride away - catch the No22 just outside your door on the main road.

The main lounge area is big and comfortable looking out on the the private terrace. Throw open those doors on a warm Summers evening and enjoy the space of the apartment.

The dining area easily seats 6 but there are additional chairs. The well positioned sky lights allow for so much light to flood this section of the open plan but I can only imagine what it would look like on a clear night - stars twinkling in the sky, candle light and great company!

The kitchen sits in the far corner and is completely open plan. It comes with everything you need in a kitchen including microwave, coffee machine, toaster, fridge etc.

This is a one bedroom apartment with an exceptionally comfortable bed. I love the little touches like white fluffy soft towels and a very Scottish welcome - A Tunnocks Caramel Wafer!

Although the apartment is a one bedroom, there is a double sofabed in the lounge should you want it to sleep up to 4 people.

The apartment has two bathrooms, on en-suite and one with a large corner bathtub - I know which one I’d go for.

There is some exceptional artwork throughout the apartment which is by Scottish born New York based artist Rory Donaldson. Wifi, free parking, TV, toiletries and fresh linen and towels all provided.

This space is incredible. It’s so large and airy and ever so private. I fell in love with this place and certainly is an apartment I can only wish I lived in!
