Discover the Reimagined Edinburgh Marriott Hotel Holyrood

The historic area of Edinburgh’s Old Town has welcomed a remarkable transformation: the newly refurbished Edinburgh Marriott Hotel Holyrood. With a £10 million investment, this iconic hotel now stands as a beacon of high-quality hospitality, seamlessly blending tradition with modern elegance.

The Paolozzi Connection: Where Scottish Heritage Meets Italian Artistry

At the heart of the hotel’s redesign lies the influence of Eduardo Paolozzi, the Leith-born pioneer of pop art. His legacy resonates throughout the property, from the captivating art installations to the meticulously crafted carpet designs. Inspired by Paolozzi’s multidimensional approach, the interiors feature cool neutral tones, layered textures, and rich patterns. Marble, sand, onyx, and water motifs create an intriguing design tension that invites reflection and visual interest.

The Greatroom Lobby

Step into the Greatroom lobby, where sophistication meets comfort. This multifunctional space serves as a hub for guests and locals alike. Whether you’re catching up over coffee, working remotely, or unwinding with a cocktail, the Greatroom offers a relaxed atmosphere. The bar and dining area feature a carefully curated menu of locally sourced delights, including grazing and sharing platters.

At the Edinburgh Marriott Hotel Holyrood, gastronomic magic awaits, if our specially curated Scottish Italian menu was anything to go by. I joined General Manager, Michael Falla for lunch to celebrate the refurbishment.

Here at the Marriott Holyrood, they celebrate the best of seasonal local ingredients, infusing them with a wee Scottish twist. Choose from the Greatroom menu or the Market menu which features Tarragon Pie and Roasted Cod to Haddock and Chips. All this overseen by Head Chef Andrew McRobert.
