Condita: a new, organic driven, fine dining experience which opened in Edinburgh in November is hosting a wine dinner in January with Amedeo De Palma of Azienda Agricole Fonzone Caccese. Fonzone wines are new to the UK and the first shipment of these wines has been made by Condita and Villeneuve Wines.
Condita is a very intimate dining experience with just six tables which offers a surprise tasting menu that uses produce grown for the restaurant in a 19th century walled kitchen garden in the Scottish Borders alongside the best meat and fish that is available in Scotland. The kitchen also uses a forager for wild ingredients. Dinner is cooked by Conor Toomey who has previously worked as Head Chef at the five star The Isle of Eriska hotel near Oban.
The restaurant wine list has just twenty wines that are from small scale producers who work organically or bio-dynamically and most have just been shipped for the first time to the U.K collaboratively by Mark Slaney, Condita’s owner and Kenneth Vannan, director of Villeneuve Wines. Mark and Kenneth have known each other since Villeneuve wines was started in 1982.
The Fonzone wine dinner is on Wednesday 23rd January 2019. £75 for dinner including wines.
For those who cannot make that evening there is also a chance to try the white wines from Fonzone with a light seafood lunch at Condita on Saturday 8th December 2018. Places for this are very limited and are £35 for lunch with wines.
