It’s less than two weeks to go until Fizz Feast – Scotland’s Sparkling Event of the Year and a true Celebration of Sparkling Wine & Artisan Food. Here’s a taster of who will will be coming to this unique bubbly festival in Edinburgh on Saturday 17 November 2018.
Now in its third year, Fizz Feast has always been a sparkling sell out success. It’s Scotland’s only event dedicated to showcasing Champagne, Prosecco, Cava, English Sparkling Wine and numerous other sparkling wines from all over the world. There’s also an array of fabulous food from carefully selected artisan food producers.
Taittinger will be back and Master of Wine Mark O’Bryen is hosting an exciting masterclass to take visitors through the various different styles of Champagne. Zonin Prosecco will be at Fizz Feast again and Vilarnau Cava is coming for the first time. Those not having seen this uber-cool Cava will be set for a surprise and they’ll also be able to enjoy the masterclass too. The ever-popular Jonathan from Woodhouse Wines will be bringing a host of exciting bubbles again. Vegan Tipples is coming for the first year bringing a range of vegan-friendly fizz which is growing in popularity. Oddbins is back and by popular request their Black Queen Sparkling Shiraz will be on taste amongst others. We’re excited to be welcoming Lidl for the first year to show off their Christmas fizz range. Cockburns of Leith is another newcomer this year, bringing Champagne and fizz including a red sparkling from popular Prosecco producer Villa Sandi which has been creating a lot of excitement recently.
In line with current trends towards the award-winning sparkling wines coming from our own British soils we have not one, but three exciting English Sparkling Wines; Greyfriars Vineyard is back and new to Fizz Feast this year are Digby and Ambriel – all coming to showcase their multi-award winning sparkling wines. Digby not only produces some great bubbly but has a fascinating story (see the Fizz Feast Taster Blog) and will also be hosting a masterclass – not to be missed. We also have Motzenbacker, an exciting premium, traditional method, German sparkling wine joining us to coincide with their UK launch.
In the Feast Hall, Pacari Chocolate is back, and Juan Santelices will be doing a Chocolate & Fizz Pairing Masterclass, Hoods Honey is coming with a stunning range of honey and honey-related tempting products such as diffusers, candles and soaps. Flavour Magic will be bringing their superb range of natural salts, herbs and seasonings. Aroma Academy will be challenging people’s senses with their fascinating wine, whisky and other sensory kits as well as great Christmas party games.
Proudly Scottish Caorunn Gin is coming for the first time this year and will be sure to be receiving a warm welcome. Two others returning are Damn Fine Cheese with their damn fine truckles of flavoured cheddar and Sally Swinbanks from Tobermory Fish Company will be back to tempt us with her delicious smoked trout and other smoked fish and shellfish. Stefano Sanna is another newcomer this year bringing his Sardinian Specialities including Parmesan, smoked ham, antipasti and numerous other taste bud tantalising temptations.
All in all, it’s a truly sparkling day out and undoubtedly the best possible Christmas shopping experience!
