Highland Ridge Larder is a small business located out in West Lothian and hangs, butchers and prepares their local, wild venison meat in their purpose built larder after the owner, Ron, has personally stalked and shot each beast ensuring our customers are provided with the highest quality product.
They offer a variety of cuts of roe and red deer. Venison is an excellent source of high quality protein, it has significant levels of vitamins and iron, and is low in fat. It is a very lean meat that is low in cholesterol.
Sourced entirely from estates in Stirlingshire, Fife and the Highlands, their venison is wild and, as a result of their diet, the small amounts of fat in the venison is likely to contain high levels of conjugated linoleic acid which is thought to protect us against heart disease and cancer. Fine texture and full of flavour, this lean and very tasty meat is a great alternative to beef and yet venison doesn’t shrink when cooked.
Their business grew out of their passion for country sports and their love of good food.
